The Middle Kingdom
In 2012 I was awarded the City of Perth Architectural Commission, a biannual commission that selects a local photographer to document the built environment of the city. The standard photographs of Perth usually places the city in context with the beautiful surrounding of the Swan River and Kings Park. From the highest buildings you can get a great view of both natural features. But, this is the privileged view. Most people working in the city only see the clustered city, lucky to catch a glimpse of the river and park via narrow gaps between buildings. This is the view from the 13th floor. It's not the view that property developers or real estate agents promote, but that's probably another reason to like it even more.
